Directions to the Riverhead Foundation

The Riverhead Foundation's Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Center can be accessed by entering through the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium


· From LI Expressway (I-495): Take the LIE east to Exit 71 (Route 24). Make a right onto route 94/24. Take route 94/24 for approx 3-1/2 miles. Go around traffic circle and follow signs to Aquarium parking
· From Sunrise Highway (Route 27): Take Sunrise Highway east to Exit 61. Follow Riverhead signs to Route 51 north for 8 miles to Route 24. Follow signs to Aquarium parking
· From Route 25: Take Route 25 into Riverhead Village. Follow signs to Aquarium parking
· Easy Access From The Long Island Rail Road: Atlantis Marine World is a short walk from the Riverhead Long Island Rail Road Station. Call (718) 217 LIRR for schedules and rates


The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation's office is located two buildings to the east of the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium at 467 East Main Street.  Office Hours are seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. 


The hospital area of the Riverhead Foundation is not open to public visitors.  However, we do offer behind the scene tours to groups with reservations.  For those interested in our education programs, please see our complete list of programs offered for more information on how to book a tour.
