Harp seal
NY4189-10
Rescued: February 3, 2010 from Dune Road, Hampton Bays, NY
Relocated and released into Shinnecock Bay in Hampton Bays, NY

Latest location:

The animal was reported to the Riverhead Foundation by the Southampton Town Police on the morning of February 3, 2010. Upon arrival on scene it was determined that the animal needed to be relocated due to the fact that it was hauled out in the middle of the road, making it hazardous to both the animal and the vehicles.

The Riverhead Foundation staff performed a medical assessment of the seal and deemed it to be in good health and a good candidate for relocation and release.
