It's fascinating, educational, and fun! Get to know the gentle giants, the inquisitive seals, or the mysterious marine turtles that inhabit our own backyard...Long Island waters.
The Riverhead Foundation operates the New York State Marine Mammal & Sea Turtle Stranding Program, which is a rescue and rehabilitation center for injured and sick marine mammals and sea turtles in New York State. The Atlantis Marine World Aquarium is home to the Riverhead Foundation. Every year the center rescues hundreds of these animals, restores their good health, and releases these amazing creatures back into the wild.
The Adoption Program is designed to defray the costs associated with rehabilitation incurred each animal during its rehabilitation. These costs may include food, medication, and veterinary expenses.
For your $30 tax deductible adoption donation, you will receive the following:
A personalized Certificate of Adoption
Two photographs of your adopted animal
Biographical information about your adoptive animal
Access Riverhead Foundation.org for special adoption updates
Riverhead Foundation logo sticker
With your $40.00 donation you receive the above, as well as a laminated sighting card and a stuffed animal.
