Wicket
On August 3, 2005, Wicket, a yearling harbor seal, was released back to the wild at Jones Beach State Park. Students and teachers from the Westbury school district joined the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation to witness Wicket's release.
Wicket was equipped with a satellite tag that was attached to his back, in-between the shoulder blades. This tag will hopefully allow the Riverhead Foundation biologists to follow Wicket's post release movements.
Below are pictures from Wicket's release and a map showing his latest position.
